Privacy Policy for RiffRoll

Effective Date: March 6, 2026

Last Updated: March 16, 2026

RiffRoll is a free iOS app for discovering live music events through a swipeable feed of upcoming shows and short promotional audio previews. We are committed to keeping data collection limited, transparent, and focused on improving the app experience.

1. Information We Collect

RiffRoll does not require account creation, and we do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, payment information, or messages through the app.

We may collect limited analytics and diagnostic information to help us understand app performance and improve the product. This may include app interactions such as feed views, preview playback attempts, favorites activity, selected city, selected date-range preferences, app version, device type, crash data, other basic technical events, and in some cases a pseudonymous app or device instance identifier used only for analytics continuity.

We configure this data for internal analytics and product improvement only. We do not use it for targeted advertising, we do not sell it, we do not use it to identify you personally, and RiffRoll does not include third-party advertising.

2. No Cross-App Tracking

RiffRoll is not designed to track you across apps, websites, or companies. We do not use your data for cross-app profiling, ad targeting, ad measurement across third-party properties, or data broker sharing.

The city used in your feed is based on the city you choose in the app. RiffRoll is not intended to rely on precise GPS location to power the core discovery feed.

We do not use the Apple advertising identifier (IDFA) for cross-app tracking or targeted advertising through RiffRoll.

3. Favorites, Preferences, and Local Storage

RiffRoll may store app settings and favorites-related state on your device so the app can remember your selected city, date-range preferences, and saved items. This information is intended to support app functionality and user convenience.

Audio previews are intended to be streamed for listening inside the app. RiffRoll is not designed to let users download, export, or make permanent copies of preview audio. The app does not manage a persistent preview-audio cache or download preview files to device storage. Any short-lived buffering or prebuffering needed for playback is used only to deliver the preview experience.

4. Third-Party Data Sources and Links

RiffRoll relies on third-party services to power parts of the app, including event information, artist links, preview content, and artwork. For example, the app may display event data from Ticketmaster and may use promotional metadata, artwork, and preview content or outbound links associated with Apple services, iTunes, Apple Music, and Spotify.

To support discovery features, we may process third-party event and artist identifiers or metadata to generate associations between an event listing and related preview content, artwork, or outbound links. This processing is used for app functionality and discovery, not to identify you personally.

When you tap an external link or leave RiffRoll for another service, your interactions with that service are governed by that third party's own terms and privacy policy, not this Privacy Policy.

5. How We Use Information

We use limited collected information to:

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We may share limited data with service providers that help us operate analytics, diagnostics, hosting, or app infrastructure, but only for the purpose of running and improving RiffRoll. Those providers are not authorized by us to use the data for independent advertising or cross-app tracking on our behalf.

7. Your Choices

Because RiffRoll does not require an account, you can generally stop future data collection by stopping use of the app or uninstalling it. You can also clear locally stored app data by deleting the app from your device.

If you contact us about a privacy request, we will make reasonable efforts to review, delete, or de-identify any server-side information that we can reasonably associate with your app instance, subject to technical limitations, legal obligations, and the limited information available to us.

8. Data Retention

We retain analytics and diagnostic information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for product improvement, troubleshooting, security, and business recordkeeping. We may delete or anonymize data sooner when appropriate.

9. Children's Privacy

RiffRoll is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us and we will review the issue.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information associated with RiffRoll. No system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but we aim to keep data practices proportionate to the limited nature of the information we collect.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the app evolves, including if we add new ticketing or music-service integrations. If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.

12. Contact

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or RiffRoll's data practices, contact [email protected].
